🛍️ Brand New World
✔️ Nike just does it with .SWOOSH. The iconic brand has been active in the Web3 space, marked most notably by its acquisition of RTFKT at the end of last year — and the investment has paid off thus far to the tune of an estimated $185M in revenue. This week, they made (arguably) their biggest move with the reveal of .SWOOSH, a blockchain-based marketplace for members to collect and eventually create virtual jerseys, shoes, and other goods.
Here's what you need to know:
▪️ All collectibles will be Polygon-based NFTs.
▪️ It'll be used as a hub to launch virtual apparel for cross-game avatars and allow users to unlock IRL benefits.
▪️ Users will be granted access starting today, although you'll need an entry code to access; the first NFT drop is planned for Jan 2023.
▪️ Its sneakers are estimated to sell for <$50 a pair.

🍎 Adidas is flaunting their Bored Ape at this year's World Cup. Indigo Herz, the Bored Ape owned by Adidas, stars in a teaser trailer for their upcoming FIFA World Cup. He appears on Benzema's cereal box named "Indigooooals," a cheeky twist on Wheaties "breakfast for champs." Another striking example of the prominence NFTs have in the future of the sports industry.

Now, cross-game avatar platform Ready Player Me is getting a L'Oréal makeover with five hairstyles and makeup combinations available for avatars. The brand's Chief Metaverse Officer, Camille Kroely, is not shying away from hints that other portfolio brands will be entering the digital realm sooner rather than later.
