Q: Describe your conceptual process.

A: An original rock floats in the air. Although split into two, it is born both virtual and solid. In the solid part of the rock, there are rich levels of gathering spaces and air stands. The virtual rock wall becomes the main visual focus of the space. The glass curtain integrates lighting and digital screens, allowing people to have a full view of the outdoor landscape simultaneously while inside.

Q: What’s an aspect of your build that might go unnoticed by the untrained eye?

A: The whole building is like a smooth raw stone, suspended in the air with a sense of original nature and transcendence from nature. A sky ladder connects to the interior of the building, with a sense of destiny similar to Greek drama, and the poetry of a movie. The huge sky curtain is rich in functions. It can be used as an electronic screen, as well as a transparent glass to become a natural background for stage performances through exterior scenes. It can also be used as a holographic dry plate for holographic projection.

Q: Favorite part of the Buildathon?

A: What we like most about the competition is that it is flexible enough to create content. Apart from the physical laws of the real world, which provide more room for creativity, the virtual world can be linked between different platforms, which brings more possibilities for creativity. As an architect who has been working on the craft of building 3D worlds, this creative freedom is even more valuable.
