Parcel partners with leading web3 projects. ICYMI, last week was a busy one, as we announced not one, but two big partnerships in the web3 gaming space!

Fief is an open-world voxel RPG that today launched the free-to-play public beta for their new game, Fiefverse Survival. 🧟‍♂️

Tollan Worlds bills itself as a pixel art online action RPG that just launched pre-alpha gameplay as an opportunity to earn a free Mark of Fate digital collectible.

🕹 Game On

Polygon 🤝 Immutable. Possibly the biggest news coming out of the Game Developers Conference was the reveal of a strategic partnership between web3 gaming firm Immutable and layer-2 blockchain Polygon. The industry power players predict that “40% of the web3 games ever built will go live over the next 12 to 18 months,” giving web3 an opportunity to “onboard 10 to 100 million gamers within that timeframe.”

Legacy games go full bull on the blockchain. CCP Games announced they had raised $40 million in funding to create a new AAA blockchain game that would expand upon their two-decade-old smash MMORPG, EVE Online. Separately, side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStory (which also has 20 years of success under its belt) revealed that their strategy for sustained success also would center around web3, with the unveiling of MapleStory Universe, an ecosystem built on Polygon.

Decentraland makes interoperability fashionable. DCL brought back their annual Metaverse Fashion Week, with a list of notable brand participants longer than a CVS receipt (think Dolce & Gabbana, Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.). However, new this year was an emphasis on interoperability – events could also be attended cross-platform in Spatial and decentralized AR platform Over.
