Illuvium goes beyond traditional collectible card games. The web3 game studio Illuvium launched their fourth game, Illuvium: Beyond, a CCG where players collect NFTs depicting characters from the Illuvium universe and compete to earn points by completing objectives. Only a small percentage of the Alpha wave remains (think of this run as the first edition of a book), but you’re in luck – we’ve partnered with Illuvium to give away a few of their D1SKs, and all it takes is a few clicks to enter!

Otherside plans its next trip. Yuga Labs is home to some of web3’s hottest properties, and arguably nothing has generated more intrigue than their metaverse project, Otherside. After their first test last July attracted 4,500 users, Yuga has finally revealed that the 2nd Trip will take place on March 25. The interactive gaming experience will feature soon-to-be-announced Team Captains, and will once again include a livestream for fans who are unable to gain one of the coveted spots to partake in the demo itself.
Voyagers, get ready to return to Otherside for 2nd Trip on March 25, 2023 (exact time TBA). Here’s what to expect 🧵

The soccer 🐐 makes another web3 move. Matchday, a soccer-centric web3 startup, announced it had raised $21 million in a seed round which includes famed soccer player Lionel Messi’s VC firm. Matchday has an official license from FIFA and promises to be targeted toward casual users, making this an intriguing project to watch for web3 sports fans worldwide.
🛍 Brand New World
Coinbase’s new product poised to onboard millions of new web3 users. The largest crypto exchange in the U.S. unveiled “Wallet as a Service,” a new business that will allow companies to customize blockchain wallets for their own customers. The offering aims to make setting up a wallet as easy as creating a username and password, removing the friction associated with the technical requirements of today’s digital wallets. It’s been an eventful few weeks for Coinbase, having previously announced Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network powered by Optimism’s OP stack.
1/ Today we introduce Wallet as a Service, making it easier for any company or brand to seamlessly onboard their users to web3 🛠️⛓️
...even if they have never used cryptocurrency before.

GQ’s NFT hits the floor. We told you a few weeks ago about GQ3, the first digital drop from men’s fashion and lifestyle publication GQ. The mint kicked off on Wednesday to a tepid response, with the brand selling less than two-thirds of its total supply, and the resale market has seen floor values drop to nearly half of the original price. Despite that, holders will still derive value in the form of mag subscriptions, merch, and exclusive party access – but the story provides yet another cautionary tale to brands entering the NFT fray.
